Birthday Cakes Part 1: Cinnamon Roll Cake

I’ve found a couple of pictures of birthday cakes I made. I love to bake something special for my kids’ birthdays, so here are some of my creations.

Cinnamon Roll Cake
(for my older daughter’s 4th birthday)

Cinnamon roll cake

– 100 ml (0,4 cups) milk
– 3/4 teasp salt
– 30 ml (0,13 cups) water
– 30 g (1/4 stick) butter
– 1 egg
– 350 g (2,8 cups) all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 tbl.sp sugar
– 1/2 package (0,25 oz) dry yeast

– 50 g (0,44 sticks) melted butter
– 50 g (1/4 cup) sugar
– 1/2 teasp ground cinnamon

Stir and knead all dough ingredients. Let rise for about 1 hour. Then knead it again and roll it out in rectangle shape on a floured surface.  Brush dough with melted butter. Mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle it over the buttered surface. Roll it up from the broadside and slice 13 pieces. Place in a greased spring form. Let rise for about 40 more minutes and bake about 20 minutes at 180°C (350°F).
