Bread Baking Buddies April 2010: Potato Bread with Chives

Sara of “I like to cook” was the BBB Kitchen of the Month in April, and she asked us to bake a vegan spring bread: potato bread with chives. I have lots of chives in my backyard because I adore them. So I was more than happy to bake a bread with chives in it.

BBA Challenge #42: Potato, Cheddar, and Chive Torpedoes

The second last bread of the BBA Challenge was an expensive bread. Not only did the recipe call for 4 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese, but also did it call for 1 ounce of chives. I grow chives in my backyard, but with all the snow we’ve been having for 3 months (!) – no, this is not normal for our region – my chives were killed.

BBA Challenge #28: Potato Rosemary Bread

I was excited to make Bread #28 of the BBA Challenge – a potato rosemary bread – because all of the other fellow bakers were so enthusiastic about it (just to cite a few: Kelly: “extraordinary and worth repeating”, Daniel: “like a savory cake made with flour, yeast, water, and salt”, Mags: “this bread makes the best dinner rolls”, Paul: “it’s incredibly yummy”). I just had made the really yummy Portuguese Sweet Bread before, so my expectations were pretty high.
